Having demonstrated “outstanding commercial success in more than one area of business”, Brownhill Insurance Group was last week awarded the 2014 Business of the Year Award at the Bromley Business Awards. Last Thursday saw the awards return to the Warren in West Wickham for the awards night where companies from all over the borough were awarded prizes for innovation, dedication to the employment of young people and support of sustainability in the borough.
Having been short-listed for three categories, Best Medium Sized Business, Best Employer and Staff Development and Best Business for Customer Service, everyone here at Brownhill Insurance Group had eagerly awaited Thursday night’s decision from the judges with anticipation. Nerves were soon calmed however after coming Highly Commended, first in the Best Medium Sized Business category which is equalled with another Highly Commended in the Best Employer and Staff Development Category. These two Highly Commended’s equalled our performance at the Bromley Business Awards in 2013.
We were delighted to be awarded winners of the Best Business for Customer Service award as customer service is at the centre of everything we do here at Brownhills and it was such an honour to be recognised for our work on customer satisfaction. Having been awarded Best Business for Customer Service for our constant monitoring of customer satisfaction and our continuous desire to improve on our already high levels of positive feedback Gillian Henderson, Company Director, took to the stage to accept the award. Gillian was joined by her two sisters, Pauline Andrews and Tracy Weedon on stage to thank the judges, the staff at Brownhills and most importantly our loyal customers for their support over the last 34 years in business.
The night finished with the coveted Business of the Year Award, given to the business whose achievements over the year, together with their dedication to their staff and customers, showed them to be an “exemplar” to other businesses in Bromley as well as “business champion” of the awards. It goes without saying that Gillian Henderson, and all those from Brownhills who attended the awards evening were thrilled at having been chosen for this award and after a few moments of silence and disbelief, the three sisters returned to the stage again to thank the the judges once more. Gillian Henderson went on to say how proud she was to be working for a company her father, John Brownhill, had started and how much this award would mean to him. To much applause, Brownhill Insurance Group were handed the award by Robert Walters, director of Biggin Hill Airport who were the lead sponsor of the Bromley Business Awards 2014.
It is with great pleasure, and pride, that we can call ourselves Bromley Business of the Year 2014, and the Best Business for Customer Service, and we will continue to strive for the high level of service we provide on a daily basis. We welcome the challenge that this award brings, and look forward to the coming 12 months.
